Are they interchangeable?
It dependsSometimes, but not recommended. CR2025 is 0.7mm thinner than CR2032. In some devices with spring-loaded contacts, a CR2025 may work in a CR2032 slot because the spring compensates for the difference. However, in devices with flat contacts, the thinner battery may not make reliable connection, causing intermittent power or no power at all.
The verdict
If you are in a pinch and your device has spring contacts, a CR2025 might work temporarily in a CR2032 slot. But get the correct CR2032 as soon as possible. Never force a CR2032 into a CR2025 slot — it is too thick and could damage the device.
