What battery does a Suzuki Swift Key Fob take?

How to replace the battery

1. Find the small seam running around the edge of the key fob.
2. Insert a coin or flat-head screwdriver into the slot and twist gently to open the two halves.
3. Remove the old CR2032 battery - note which way round it sits.
4. Drop in the new CR2032 with the positive (+) side facing up.
5. Snap the fob back together and test the buttons.

No pairing or reset needed - the fob works immediately after the battery swap.

Which Swift models does this cover?

The CR2032 is used across all Suzuki Swift generations from 2005 onwards, including:

• Suzuki Swift (2005-2010) - 2nd generation
• Suzuki Swift (2010-2017) - 3rd generation
• Suzuki Swift (2017-present) - 4th generation
• Suzuki Swift Sport
• Suzuki Swift Hybrid
• Suzuki Swift 4x4

If your fob has a separate emergency blade key inside, the CR2032 still applies - slide out the blade key first before opening the fob.

Signs the battery needs replacing

• Having to press the button more than once to lock or unlock
• Needing to be much closer to the car than usual
• Fob stops working altogether
• Low key battery warning appearing on the dashboard display

A CR2032 typically lasts 2-4 years in a key fob. If you can't remember the last time you changed it, it's probably time.
